I second the ponte pants leggings option - thicker material with front seams.
Sussan has them for about $50 and katies for about $30. I find the ponte styles hold their shape and launder much better, give you more support (Esp if you have a bit of wobble or a few dimples). They also keep their colour better, and don't show your knickers!
My leggings-as-pants rule is less that my bum needs covering (I don't mind a little lower bum poking out if it's the ponte style) but that my top covers my front bits! Nothing grosser than camel toe!
Plus, I always wear looser, normally button through style tops and never just wear tight tops and leggings.
