DS goes to child care on Fridays, he didn't go last week because DH was going away for the weekend and they spent the day together, anyway while talking to my sister she tells me I should call them because a lot of centers do a mothers day afternoon tea the Friday before mothers day so I call them up and I'm told yep around 3.30 a mothers day afternoon tea and play.
I take him to care and went off to have my day all day thinking and getting excited for this afternoon tea only to get there and find its not happening and his room leaders know nothing about it! I told them about my phone call and they have no idea what I am talking about!!
They told me had made me a gift and that was it don't get me wrong I'm happy he made me something but I was still looking forward to just me and him time at home is dad and DS2

that sucks they told you but didn't do it- although most centers don't bother anymore as the kids parents are normally at work all day
be glad they made a present

Sucks they got it wrong but yay that they helped him make you a present.
Why not do something special with your DS instead? Take him out just the two of you and have some special one on one time.

Aww, sorry that you were given hope and then had it dashed. Surely you can have a little special one-on-one time with your boy on Sunday.
This morning we were a little late to school, and the prep room was lining the kids up in three rows. I asked were there photos or something today and was told that no it was practicing for their mothers day presentation. I thought nothing more of it and went on my way.
This afternoon I discovered that I had missed the mothers day afternoon tea. Notes had been sent home, but I had obviously missed them. I felt really bad that I had let my little girl down. At least she didn't seem concerned this time.
