I was up last night with gastroand woke this morning with quite 'empty' feeling breasts. Anyone had this happen and did it pick back up very quickly?

Oh you poor thing!
Yes it's very common and is due to you being dehydrated. Take as much fluid as you can and it will build up quickly again.
Go to the chemist for some gastrolyte if you can.

Yes have had it happen about 3 times, yes milk came back quickly. bubs may need to feed more frequently while supply picks up. Your milk will also protect her from picking it up.
No I didn't use top ups just fed alot, drank alot and rested alot.

Ohhhh you poor thing
I had gastro in March and wrote a similar thread:

I had plenty of gastrolyte (sp?), including both the drink & ice block versions and sucked on ice cubes. I had DH bring DS2 in whenever he needed a feed and just kept the feeds up as usual and rested heaps. Supply wasn't affected much.
Gastro sucksHope it passes soon for you.

Thanks for the links and responses. Two days later and my supply is still rubbish. Bubs is ok but nappies are not as wet as they were. Oh this sucks. I try so hard as I struggle with supply at the best of times and just when we are having a good run, this happens. DD refuses bottles too so will of course battle on. Now I have a little cold, so on it goes - feeling so down. Fingers crossed we can overcome this.
