Just wanting to get some opinions on Dr Turner at HFC - so far we have heard very good things and are thinking of changing FS. We have previously been seeing Dr Lincoln Brett at HFC and although he did get us our BFP previously, we didn't really like his bedside manner - so to speak. He was nice enough, but we felt we weren't heard, and our concerns or questions were either answered very shortly and sweetly or brushed over.
Also just wanted to know how HFC feels about transferring 2 embies - I know they prefer just one and the risks etc. But I do know of other ladies from forums that have had 2 transferred at HFC - apart from having to write a letter - does anyone know of anyone or has anyone themselves had 2 transferred with them and under what circumstances they are happy to do this.
Any personal experiences/advice would be great

Hollywood Fertility Perth - Dr Turner & Transferring 2 Embies

Hi. We are under HFC and we also started with dr Brett but changed to dr turner after our initial consult. We can't praise the clinic or dr turner enough. Some people find him a bit abrupt and don't like him, he's quite harsh with his staff at times but I think that's just because he's a perfectionist. He certainly knows his business, he has been in the field since ivf began and helped create and delivered the first 3 sets of ivf triplets over 30 yrs ago. He delivered both our boys and we would not have it any other way. He is very thorough and listened to us and explained things very well. We love him and can't thank him and his staff at Hollywood and his private clinic enough

Oh and we only had 1 emby transferred at a time and never thought of having any more than that transferred. But I believe transferring more than one emby with dr turner depends on your circumstances re why you are having to do ivf, your age and how many transfers you have had previously.

I'm also at HFC with Dr Turner, l've had two embies transferred but that is only if l have the two to transfer and only at day 3. I'm currently waiting to have my first HRT FET this month and will only transfer one as l have 3 in the freezer. As i understand my circumstance to be one of age and also previous mc plus l don't usually have anymore than one or two to transfer, but this time was different so they only transferred the one from my fresh cycle and will only trsfr one 5 day blasty. I'm happy with that as l don't want to have the risk of multiple at my age and given my previous history of mc.
Dr Turner is awesome though as is HFC, l was with a different clinic prior to that and you simply cant compare them, HFC is sooooo much better in every way. Good luck

Thanks Kimberleygal, we don't think they will because we are young and have only had one transfer previously - but we are doing as many FETs as we can - depending on how many if any survive the thaw. If we could transfer 2 it would be cheaper and increase our chances for that cycle.
We have spent over 10 years all up TTC except that one amazing year I was pregnant with our daughter, and I am desperate to have another child, but tired as well. Our daughter is 7 in a couple of months and it saddens me that she will not have the bond that I share with my two sisters. But in saying that we are very lucky to have her and need to move forward for her, so that is why after all our frosties are used up - we are starting a new chapter and leaving the IVF and stupid "I'm one day late maybe I'm pregnant world" behind. I going to try and flick that fricken switch off - smash that maternal clock! Ooopps! Sorry for that little rant.
Good to hear from you - thanks - I think we will definitely try and get in with Dr Turner.

Dr Turner got us our baby, so I think he's wonderful. However, he is abrupt, and if you want someone with a softer approach, the lady at HFC is lovely (Julie something I think).
Dr T also delivered our bub and I trust him completely. If you want a great FS he's your man, but just be prepared for a no nonsense character who won't sweeten his words for you ;-)
