I know exactly how you feel hun! By 39 weeks I was well and truly over it. I remember a mw saying to me that at the longest I would have my baby in my arms in 3 weeks and I remember thinking that that would be like an eternity away!
I was also 4cm at 40 weeks. I had two s&s, got acupuncture, ate spicy foods, dtd, walked such long distances, bounced on a fit ball, had hot baths, used clary sage oil... Just to name a few things...
I ended up being induced by ARM and was 5cm on induction.
Anyway, it'll happen when it happens as you know no matter what you do/try... It's frustating having people asking all the time so turn off your phone, like OP said get your mum to take your little one out for the day and have a relaxing bath, stay in your pj's, watch chick flicks...whatever it is that makes you feel relaxed and pampered!
All the best![]()

Still nothing happening.
I've decided to try and enjoy these last days with dd, while I'm not too busy with a newborn.
Mum is still staying here, she lives 2 hours away, so she's reluctant to drive home, just to have to come back again. But I keep reminding her not to ask me if I'm having any pains.
I'd love for her to go home, and to pack my Dh off somewhere too, but trying to make the best of everything.

One final update. Went into emergency this morning because I was concerned about lack of fetal movement. After an hour or so on the monitors, they sent me up to ultrasound. Based on a very quiet baby, reduced amniotic fluid, as well as the start stop contractions the decision has been made to induce at 6.30 tomorrow morning.
I never wanted to be induced, in fact I had been terrified of the idea. However, I feel really happy and confident that it will go well and it is the best thing for my baby.
