wishes she was a glow worm. A glow worm's never glum, 'cos how can you be grumpy when the sun shines out of your bum?

The last time a dr told me to go home with my coughing sick baby he ended up in hospital 48hrs later for 5 days. If he is really distressed or you are worried go the hospital. That's what theyre there for. Chest issues, even a cough can spiral out of control so easily and quickly. Best wishes

You can always ring Nurse On Call. My dd had a cold last week and one night she was coughing and crying every time she coughed. I gave her some baby nurofen and within 30 minutes she was no longer crying. She wasn't her usual happy self when she was sick, but she wasn't distressed as such apart from that particular time.
If your bub has been quite distressed, despite panadol and everything else, then ring Nurse on call or go to the doctor/emergency department (if you're concerned). Remember that Doctors assume that your bub is the same or getting better if you don't go back. The advice may change if bubs gets worse.
all the best
