Did you have a science background (good grades in science at school) before doing nursing and/or midwifery? I didn't do science past grade 9/10 at school so worried how well I would do.

I did year 11 and 12 biology- and i think it did really help with the anatomy and physiology in the first weeks. You need to be able to understand basic cell function and formation. It did help me I believe to have some good understanding before going into the other stuff. At our Uni the A&P is squished into 2 units, and it is SO much info and SO full on (but in saying that was my favourite subjects too!).
Maybe look at doing some online A&P units before you start. I believe there are a few beginner ones or online ones that you could do that would really help you to get a good understanding of this before starting. You may even get some credit possibly depending on where you apply. (and it may help your application)

I didn't do any science in years 11 and 12. There is alot of anatomy in the first year, it would have been helpful to have had the background knowledge, but I was able to get good marks in both A&P subjects without it. Like PP said, have a read of some background info beforehand to get you started.
