    Default heating baby/toddler's room

Last winter I nearly died - not from the cold, from my winter electricity bill (>$1000)!

I used oil heaters and had it going almost continuously in my bubs room - DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME!!

Anyway, this year I'm in a different place and may still need to use the oil heater in DS's room, but this time I'll set it to ONLY come on in the early morning, say 3am to 6am just to warm his room so he doesn't freeze when he wakes. He still kicks the blankets off and the last few days I find him sitting in his cot and his hands and feet are so cold!

Somy question is, does anyone know if having the timer on will cost much or is it just when the heater actually comes on for those few hours?? I've opted to have a weekly amount direct-debited from my account this year but still do not want a huge bill again!

Also, what are the most economical heaters to get?

I know you can get timers that you plug into the wall then you plug heater in and set the timer for when you want it to come on i would try bunnings and our last winter heating bill was 1900 - 700 was for just one month lets just say we will not be having a repeat of that lol
