Cakes. I'm in vic
I find them to be a bit different from each other though. I lived in WA for years, was so disappointed they had no potato cakes as I found potato scallops too fat and small. Potato cakes are flatter & larger. But maybe the very few times I had a potato scallop in WA the place I got them from done them differently? Idk but all I know is their tiny scallops where nothing on a small dinner plate sized potato cake with chicken salt LOL!

I do have to say, when visiting QLD nd ordering a "potato cake" I get given this processed thing that's kinda like a Potato Scallop and no sane Sydney Hot food shop would sell.

However, I'm from Queensland and have heard others call them potato scallops.
