I have to otherwise they'd have no where to sit/walk.
But my cleaning consists of:
- Bulldoze all toys into girls room. Close door.
- Bulldoze all clothes into my room. Close door.
- Wipe bench tops, coffee table, bathroom sink.
- Sweep kitchen floor.

I clean frantically before visitors now that we're in a bigger house. We had a small two bedroom house that was mostly always clean and tidy. Now we're in a two storey six bedroom house and just keeping downstairs tidy is hard. Although it's usually very clean.

If I know we have people visiting I will start cleaning the day before. The house is usually tidy but I like to scrub it before people visit.
I will vacuum, dust, mop the floors, scrub the bathrooms and toilets and make sure the kitchen is immaculate.
DP always complains when we have visitors because he says the place looks too clinical but I do like having everything in its place.
If people pop in unannounced I always freak out that they will judge my house, even if it's not dirty, just a little untidy.

No, I'm pretty close with my girlfriends. I feel I've been through a lot with them, I can't see why they'd suddenly shun me if there was a bit of dust around the place. I try to keep the living areas pretty tidy, DP does the dishes and we have a dishwasher so it's not as if the kitchen is ever a bomb.
If I'm having DP's friends over for dinner or family, I'll give the place a quick wipedown but meh...

I've moved back home to my mums and she keeps a clean and tidy place, the only rule around here is 'leave it how you found it' which sometimes makes difficult for a spirited 21 month old..

Yup! I run around like a mad woman, tidying vacuuming sweeping...toilet and bathroom.
And to the person who said that it's easy - You don't live in my house!

i wish i was as clean as all of you! If visitors arrived right now they would find me with no bra on, toys all over the loungeroom floor, in fact toys all over every room's floors, dishes not done, floors not swept and bathrooms grotty. i am not a good housewife at all
in fact i should be cleaning rather than on here i guess. well off i go....
