I'm thinking of having a career change and becoming a primary teacher.
I'm just wondering the pathways that people took to become a teacher?
I'm just finishing a degree via distance and so looking at some post grad study, preferably via distance. Has anyone done something similar and where did you complete your teaching quals and how long did it take?
Thanks![]()

I then went to uni for 4 years and did a bachelor of Education Primary. (started early childhood)
I went back for another 6 months and finished the graduate certificate in early childhood education.
I went to Murdoch University

My husband is currently doing his Graduate Diploma of Education and Teaching as an external student through QUT. It takes one year full time. He's building on a Bachelor of Arts.

Thanks so much for your replies! I have looked at UWS and Murdoch - UWS is only on campus though and Murdoch has a unit that has to be on campus so that counts that out for me.
I hadn't looked at QUT though...it looks great. What is the workload like and how is your husband finding the course? I am going to ring QUT to discuss today.
