    Default What extra curricular activities.....

....is your child involved in? sports, instruments, athletics, singing, theatre ect

I'm particularly interested in hearing from those in Brisbane and from those with boys (my son is 5) but am definitely interested in hearing from everyone the more ideas the better!

    TIA

I should have added some more Q's to my OP but I'll just ask now.

Biscotti, where does your DD attend? How often? and is it expensive?

We're on the Sunshine Coast. Gymnastics is $165 a term (1 hr per week) and ballet is about $100 a term (30 mins per week) plus leotards, shoes, tights, skirt etc

My DS is 5 in June. He does weekly soccer lessons (the Ginger Sports soccer) at Childcare and swimming lessons. He also does speech therapy but I don't think that really counts. Soccer is $10 a session and swimming is $20 a lesson.

My 9 year old daughter does swimming $110 for 30 mins x 10 lessons
Roller skating $10 for 2 hours a week
Zumba (after school co-curricular) free for 1 hour
Netball (after school co-curricular) free for 1 hour

She would do something everyday if I would let her

I'm in NSW but out of all the sport choices available......my son chose to do dancing.
He does jazz, tap, ballet, funk and hip hop.......he's 5.5yrs old.
We pay $100 per term plus extra for the shoes (1 pair for jazz and 1 pair for tap) and costumes for concerts.

All girls here. They have tried a few things over the years. Dancing (Jazz & tap), cheerleading, piano, gymnastics, netball, basketball - ball skills, AFL, Touch and swimming. Also, choir and recorder during school hours.

As they are older they have all decided what they want to do rather than wanting to do practically everything.

DD1 does gymnastics twice a week. Mondays is for 1.5 hours but Saturdays is for 4 hours with 2 hours being Team Gymnastics.

DD2 does gymnastics twice a week. Mondays for 1 hour and Saturday Team gymnastics for 2 hours. She also does 30mins swimming a week but that is not negotiable until she has the skill and stamina to save herself. She also does Bollywood dancing at school at lunch time once a week and school Glee Club before school once a week.

DD3 does gymnastics once a week for 1 hour but really only because she is there anyway and for the fitness. She does 2x 45mins swimming a week plus a 30min diving/turns class when they do them.
