My DD's are almost 3 and haven't had peanuts, but that's simply for the choking factor. They have had peanut butter and satay chicken.

I've never heard of waiting until 8? Weird!

My dd is not two yet and she's eaten nuts and peanut butter. No history of but allergies in either family though! Would have been more careful with family history!

Both my girls would have been around 2 when they had a peanut, but would have had peanut butter or some kind of satay before 2

My 2 and 3 year old eat peanuts, macadamias, almonds etc.

Sorry, hit post too soon... my MCHN says that raw carrot and apple are actually a much worse choking hazzard, so I figured once they could cope with those things they should be okay with nuts.

Even adults choke on food, but I think as long as they aren't running around being silly while they are eating, the risk isn't too great.

My 2 1/2 year old has been eating them for over a year. Yes there is a choking hazard with them and I am aware of it but he would help himself out of my girls containers. My girls were older before they started eating peanuts but that is because of their allergies.

My DS has been eating pine nuts and crushed peanuts ( usually on his pad Thai!) since he was 1, I have not tried him on whole nuts yet , he eats raw peas and whole apples no problems so I suppose he would be fine , as pp,s have said I suppose it depends on the individual child

Hayden eats nuts. I did have someone have a go at me for letting him eat the nuts off a table at a party once, telling me it was "illegal" for kids his age to eat nuts. I thought that was rather odd.

I would try around 2yrs as long as they understand to not be silly while eating them and chewing them too all should be fine
