I think an experience is always nice. Maybe you could both go on a wine tour? I am about to go on one that takes us to 5 wineries, a chocolate factory, a cheese factory and lunch. All for $80 pp for a 7 hour tour.

    Day spa voucher?

I just bought my mum a beautiful piece of luggage off Kate Hill.com.au It was $200 down to $80 with free delivery and so well made! They have bags and purses on there as well and a nice range. There big sale is about to end so I would look soon. It was really fast delivery as well.

    What's your budget?

    Some ideas:
    Pandora or charm bracelet
    Earrings
    Nice PJs
    Cookbook
    Candles from Dusk
    Voucher for high tea
    Handbag or wallet
Throw rug for winter (linen shops have gorgeous ones)
Do up a pamper box - nice lotion, bath bombs, candle, book, dvd, chocolate etc
    Ugg Boots
    Perfume

If all else fails you could buy a plant, paperclip a whole lot of $1 scratchies to it and voilà..a money tree haha

I'm going to get my Mum a china teacup from an Antique store for Mother's Day. I went into a store the other day and saw heaps from $25 - $35 and I know Mum loves nice china teacups and I was happy to find some for a reasonable price. I haven't been in an Antique shop for a long time ... I recommend them for more inspiration if you need it

I just got Mum this luggage set (http://shop.bigpond.com/Product.asp?...tail&ID=166574) as she is going overseas in August.
Was also looking at magazine subscriptions and tickets for An officer and a gentleman.
