1st 3.5hrs of "proper" labour. About 11hrs from first contraction to birth.

2nd 23.45hrs of "proper' labour. About 2 days from first contraction to birth. They ended up breaking my water and a few hours later giving me the drip ..she was born about 3 hours after the drip.

Im pregnant with #3 and scared out of my mind

I've only had one baby and I'm hoping that labour does get easier and quicker for me - mine was very easy and quick at 2.5 hours. But I have a friend who had two quick labours and then with number three was in labour for two days before having an emergency c-section. So every labour is different.

Thank you all so much for your replies - it's been interesting ready other's experiences. I'm not so concerned about the duration, it's the intensity that has me a little nervous

The intensity with my second was alot worse then my first because it was such a short labour. Not even heat packs helped me my second time round like they did with my first.
