    Default Vegemite?

Can I give my 8 month old a smear of Vegemite on toast? I can't remember how old DD1 was!

I think it's ok - someone told me there is a kiddies version of Vegemite with less salt in it.

I think vegemite is packed with nasties? Artificial flavour, preservatives, colour, salt, sugar.... I wouldn't give it to my bub.

My kids have been having vegemite since they started solids! They won't touch the 'kids Vegemite' because it tastes "yuck" apparantly!

DD has a bit on her toast pieces in the mornings. Think we let her have some at about 6months.

DS whose 10 months has been having vegemite for a few months. He loves it for lunchtime sandwiches or morning toast. I didn't know about the kids Vegemite til a friend told me about it. There's kids weetbix too? I wouldn't have thought of giving him any different to what we eat.

Mine had it before 6 months, but only a tiny bit of mine. She was probably 8 months before she was given her own vegemite sandwiches.

DS started having the kids version about 8ish months. He doesn't have it everyday though as it is full of cr@p, including caramel colouring 150 which is very bad, I've heard.

Yes Vegemite contains 150d ( as does coke) and is linked to hyperactivity , Plus it also contains amines and natural MSG , so really it's not an ideal food for kids, so much better spreads available ( tahini, ricotta cheese, avocado, organic nut butters, raw honey etc )
