Oh and when test driving listen for any knocks/rattles etc so you can ask your mechanic about them

When I took my car for a test drive with the salesman, I took it for a big drive up a hill and on a highway and gave the accelorator a bit of a kick. Nothing worse than buying a great new car and realising it's not comfortable to get to your favourite destinations to which you have to travel.

    All sounds good!

I'd ask to see service books and why they are selling and take for a test drive but not just round the block a decent one.

    Good luck!!

Not sure what state your in but check for flood damage. Does the car have a moldy smell. Check the boot lining lift it up look for signs of rust check if the carpet has been replaced. Check the lights from front and back for water in them. Sounds like the cars ok though price is reasonable you can check on carsales for prices.

We brought a new (secondhand) car on Friday and we did a revs check and also check the rego online. Fortunately we did this because the rego had expired by a month! The guy we brought it from renewed the rego right there and then. Had dh driven the car home and had an accident he wouldnt have been covered at all! Not even 3rd party that you get when you register the vehicle
