    I've heard midwives refer to it as "bottom line" or "purple line", don't know technical name though sorry.

    I have always seen it written as "the bottom line"

    I googled that and it came up with the relevant searches so maybe try that

    The line that goes dark when dilating? I read a ladies blog who describes it, hang on a sec i'll go see if i can find it....

    Pretty sure it's called rectal flaring....i can PM you a link to the blog entry i am talking about.
    It's also got to do with assessing what stage of labour a woman is at without needing to perform an internal check.

    Thanks, i only know as the bottom line or purple line too.

    My googles skills at 3 and 4 am aren't that great. So I couldn't find anything but I have found some stuff this morning.

    I have only had it checked in my last labour (so 1 out 5 times) by a student midwife who had only heard about that day and was surprised by how good it was.

    TMI warning****

    hubby mentioned that he could see the starts of it last night while he was massaging my back and tail bone.

    I hoping that means I will go soon. I had enough already I feel like I have been in pre labour for days but knows.... I don't normally go until 40 +10 or 11.
