Depends on which carpet you want.... obviously there is cheaper and more plushy kind of carpet... best thing to do is ring around at carpet companies/shops and ask...

Ours cost about 3500 2 years ago, not including hallway. Really depends on what type you choose. This installation

We built our house and decided to put our own flooring in ourselves. Apart from the carpet. We got a few quotes from different places and there was big differences. We ended up going with a local family business, told them what we wanted and how much we had been quoted and gave them the option to beat it. They did by $400 !! Downstairs we tiled and put solid wood flooring. Upstairs we carpeted the stairs, x3 bedrooms and the landing. We went for a charcoal colour and a hard wearing carpet. Does not look cheapy at all! It cost us $1700 which we really happy with. It was put in the next day Def recommend shopping around for a few quotes and see if they will beat the rest

My SIL just carpeted her house. 3 very small rooms, one tiny hallway and again an very small lounge room. She got cheap carpet and it cost her $3700.
