Our DD was in her own room from 3 weeks. Wouldn't sleep one night so tried the cot and it worked so she stayed there.

The next day when we got home. Dh & I tag teamed for the first couple of nights sleeping on the spare mattress next to her cot, then we spent a couple nights next door in the spare bed. We can hear her from our room now & have a very good monitor which puts my mind at ease

DD went into her own room at 7 months at dh's insistence. I would have happily waited until 12 months.

Dd1 was in here own room from day we came from hospital we lived in a small unit. When dd2 comes her cot will be in mummy's room til 3-4 months or until big sister wants to share a room and doesn't wake her up. I'm 26 weeks pregnant and dd1 can wait for baby to arrive.

11 months I think he was. He thankfully adapted very well. DH slept on a mattress on the floor in his new room for the first week just to give him a smooth transition.

About 8 weeks I think. She started to get pretty noisy.

I think she was about 5 months. Her bedroom was also right next to ours.

When he was 6 months I was'convinced' by hubby to move him into his own room, that lasted about half an hour until we moved in with him
That was a good opportunity to paint our bedroom so we stayed in his room until he was about two and then when we moved back into our room he came with us and slept on a mattress next to the bed. When we were all ready for our own space he went into a big bed in his room no trouble. He is very independent and self confident but still loves cuddles. We certainly didn`t create a rod for our backs!!!

DS (now 5) went into his own room at 5 months as we were struggling for space and his cot wouldn't fit in our room although I really wanted him with us until 6 months in line with SIDS recommendations. The quieter nights were appreciated though as he was a noisy sleeper!
Early days as only 8 weeks pg but if all goes well number 2 will probably be in with us for longer as we have different bedroom furniture and have more space. Also we won't be changing the spare room into a nursery as the house is going on the market soon.
