I read a story in the ABA magazine of a baby who had a cleft pallate, and while they were waiting for baby to be old enough/strong enough for surgery the Mum would express milk into babies mouth (as well as feeding EBM with a special bottle) so that baby still got the link between breasts and milk. After surgery at about 8 months, baby was able to feed from the breast
Breast compressions while baby is at the breast can also help them learn how to get the milk out.
you are doing a great job, and baby will get there.
