Doesn't surprise me but then because we're gluten and dairy free our Easter choc costs more anyhow and we buy ahead of time little bits at a time to spread out the cost (one bunny is $4) or else it's all sold out (and thankfully not the woolies macro one or else we'd be in trouble) but no seafood or alcohol for us over Easter

Not at all.
We're meant to be going to a picnic on Sunday, I honestly can't be bothered cause that means I've got go shopping to buy a million & one things.

It does sound huge but then there are 20mill + people in Australia. I wonder how much they estimate is spent on food & alcohol over any 4 day period (including a weekend).
Obviously lots more spent this weekend though.

I didn't buy any alcohol.
I was tempted to get some fish for over the w/end (not for any religious reason, just because I like to cook fish every week) and the line at the fish counter was about 8 deep!
I have been eating Easter chocolate for the past 3 weeks and have bought far too much......but most of it is for me!

To save money this easter instead of buying fish we bought organic chicken sausages so total for good friday dinner meat was $4 lol. So seafood $0 we where given $50 as an easter present as we don't like receiving chocolate we bought a bottle of wine with that, so alcohol cost $0 then eggs we spent on the kids totalled $30.
