Default Can you recommend an effective 'detox'?

I am feeling pretty average at the moment, incredibly bloated (I seriously look 2nd trimester pregnant) and carrying a few extra kg’s that I didn’t have a few months ago!

I don’t like the idea of crash diet type detoxing (like the lemon detox diet), but feel like I need a bit of a cleanse. By far the best detox I’ve done was the Liver Cleansing Diet, but that’s a strict 8 week eating regime and I’m just not up for it at this point in time.

Can anyone suggest a good method of detoxing? I suppose eating fruit and veg only and drinking heaps of water for a few days could help???

    TIA

When I'm feeling completely bloated and feel like I need a good detox I cut out carbs and dairy, eat heaps of leafy greens and fruits and vegies, and drink AT LEAST 3L of water a day. I also have a lot of chilli and try to only have a coffee in the morning and in the evening, not during the day. During the day I'll drink water, or herbal teas. I find for myself I feel really bloated when I have a heavy carb and dairy weekend. Doing this always makes me feel heaps better and more energized.

The reboot your life 10 day juice detox by Joe Cross is really good, my fiancé and I did it a little whole ago and felt great afterwards
I can't remember the link exactly, but it should be pretty easy to find on google

hi, I have heard of a very gentle 'detox'. Every third day, you just eat fruit or drink juices, or water or herbal teas. The amount of fruit you eat is not restricted, and the juices are to be free of sugar. You dont have to limit what you eat on the other days, but you wont feel like over eating after the 'fast' day. A doctor recommended this to an over weight teenage girl, and she lost weight very gradually, and was very fit and healthy for the whole time. Marie.

I think juice fasting is the way to go. I always fell so much lighter and energized after. You could try an easy 3 day one... plenty of fresh juices, water and herbal teas.

I have to agree, it's amazing (I've done it once before). It's very restrictive though and I'm not sure I want to commit to it again right now.

I think I will do my body a huge favour if I can stop overloading on carbs! After Easter I am going to get strict on my eating and get healthier again
