Mine is pretty bright. Almost too bright, I think, but its the most pleasant pink glow. It gives the room a beautiful ambiance. It's a largish egg-shaped one, and I've gone through about 4-5globes in almost 5 years of usage. I bought them from bunnings until I found a health food shop nearby that stocks the globes.

I started turning it off in the daytime, but I forgot to turn it on for about a week and it leaked everywhere. I just leave it on now.

My dad gave it to me for my birthday and I love it.

I love them but I won't have them in the house anymore. My dad has one in every room of his house except bathroom and toilets. He bought me one for my birthday but DP kept turning it off during the day. One night when I went to turn it on the cord exploded in my hand! Apparently the moisture from it being off built up and when I turned it on the electricity made it explode so please just leave them on. They are lovely if used correctly

Haha I was going to ask if you could get them to not look like a lump of salt. I like the idea of them, but the ones I have seen are awful.

I just found this website and it has a load of different lamps, including night lights that just plug straight into a socket and a kids range which is shaped like the planets. Im definitely going to order some today

You can get quite a range of shaped/carved ones. I have seen cubes, round, eggs, pyramids, even angels and elephants. I'm sure you could find something that you liked

As for price, they start around $40 in the health stores. The larger the crystal the more expensive they are, shaped ones are more expensive too. You can also get coloured globes for them too.

I'm wondering this too. I love the idea of them but am concerned about safety. And I don't like to leave anything running when we're out other than the fridge.

Ah bugger. We got given one and after a while it started to leak and I freaked out and threw it out.
