You've described exactly how I felt just as I was splitting up from my ex. It's a heck of a tough time. I found that learning about the grief process really helped me to make sense of all the stuff I was going through, and not panic about it all, to realise it was normal, and let it all just happen.
At some stage it could be useful to have a read of this.
