What a bittersweet story. I have tears for you, your mum and your family.
It is a beautiful thing you are doing and im sure your sister would proud of you both for having such strength.

Totally burst into tears reading that... my heart hurt so bad for your mum reading what she went through. Isnt it amazing the difference in days in age from then to now. Now if that happens you are encouraged to grieve & have a lot of love & support. I dont know how the women in those times got on with it the way they did. But I suppose they had no other choice.
I am so happy for your mum, you & your family to finally be able to do this. What a beautiful mothers day it will be for you all.....

Oh wow, your poor mum going through that with what sounds like no support from the midwives at the time. The thought of what she went through has me in tears.
It's amazing what you're doing for her and I hope both you and she can find some solace in the experience. Rest in peace little Rebecca

Such a moving story; it brought me to tears.
I hope that finding Rebecca's resting place will allow you to work through some of your grief together.
Lots of love to you all.
