    Default AR Formula

DS2 has been on formula for about 6 weeks now.

He's on Losec ATM to help with his reflux but vomiting is not improving.

Paed suggested putting him on an AR formula (currently on Karicare Goat). I bought a tin of Novalac (sp?) Reflux and bubs will not take it. Cried and cried until I caved and gave him his usual goats formula.

Can anybody recommend another AR formula that may be suitable?

Not an AR one - sometimes the AR ones can be harder to digest on their little tummies as they are thicker (especially if it is silent reflux). If you haven't already try the Nan HA Gold as it is based on 100% whey which is easier to digest then the formulas based on a ratio of whey and casein. HTH...

Karicare do a seperate thickner which you can add to his normal formula. It's in a little yellow can and most pharmacies sell it, worked wonders for my DD's reflux.

Ricebubblez, can I use the thickener with the Karicare goats milk? Or just the regular.

Oh this is way harder than DS1, he just stayed on the booby juice & had none of these reflux issues so I'm feeling a little out of my depth!

You can use it with any formula. I used it with Nan Gold for DD. You can also use it to thicken breast milk. Make sure that you get the actual thickner though not the Karicare AR formula which you can't add to othet formulas as it is a formula in its self.

Good luck! Reflux is a horrible thing in these poor little bubs!
