I had a normal birth and bled for 6 weeks so that was my reasoning behind waiting.

If you feel up to it and your no longer bleeding then go for it! I think they say to wait so you dont cause an infection and give your body a rest after birth.

If I had a csection I'd wait a couple of weeks at least. I hate the thought of stitches opening up !!

    Good luck

Awwww that sounds so lovely. U made perfect sense Lucky hubby! I think as long as YOU want to and are comfortable but 10 days after u may still be quite tender in your abdominal area and wouldn't want to pull any stitches or anything. Honestly though... Lucky hubby!!! S*x was so far from my mind with a newborn. U could try being intimate in other ways maybe?

the answer is simple. because the person who made up the 6 week rule was a virgin and jealous of anyone else getting sum, especially a mummy who has obviously got sum before

Errr I don't know about that one...

OP if you feel ready go for it, as PP mentioned there is a higher risk of infection if your cervix dilated and obviously not too pleasant if you are still having lochia.

It is a personal thing, I understand wanting the intimacy back.
I am jealous that you feel up to DTD, DS is 11 months and I still feel shattered.

We dtd 2 weeks and 2 days after both my csections. If you feel ready go for it! Just make sure you communicate with your DH and tell him to go slow if you need to.

Much to my ExDPs dismay i couldnt within the 6 weeks, not so much because i didnt want to but that is just until the bleeding stopped.

If you want to and can then i say go for it and just take it easy!
