I am really really kicking myself about not asking if baby's head was engaged at all at my appointment on Friday and now I have to wait til 04/04/12 for my ob appointment.
Anyone with experience & can remember, what did it feel like?
Some things that has me thinking she is include:
achey thighs & pelvis
going to the toilet even more than I was (it is bl00dy ridiculous, I may as well live in the toilet lol)
sharp pains in that area
what feels like a swollen vjay & all around that area
difficulty standing up without pain & pressure
difficulty walking, especially without support belt.
I laboured in my thighs with Jack a lot so the achey thighs I think is giving me a good reminder that she isn't too far away now with a max of 5 weeks to go!

How do I tell if she is engaged?

For me I was able to return to sleeping lying down, rather than propped up on an angle and started getting strange shooting pains down through my groin.
It would have been sometime between 36w and 38wks when she went from 4/5 to 3/5 (i felt no different at 4/5). Good luck for the last few weeks

It should say in your records how many fifths above the brim he/she is. If there is nothing there then I would say he/she isn't at all.

The midwife writes how many fifths engaged she is in my pregnancy book after every visit. She's been 3/5 for weeks and weeks now! I had all the signs that you mentioned when she first dropped too which was around 35 ish weeks. It doesn't necessarily mean they're any closer to making an appearance though because I'm 4 days overdue and still waiting!

I had all the symptoms and mine isnt engaged either Have next ob appt tomorrow but to be honest not expecting any change. Even have a feeling he may have flipped back to a breech position after being turned a couple of wks ago! And he's due a week today

Don't stress it is very common for 2nd, 3rd or in my case 6th baby not to engage until labour.
