Bringing in these cranes took work away from small businesses already struggling through the GFC. There are other private organizations that contract similar work out to the small businesses, yet why couldn't she.
That's just why I was never voting for her

I'm not a Queenslander but I do find this result quite concerning in the grander scheme of things. The biggest concern is Palmer who is a LNP member and a massive donor (could have said something else there).
Those who don't know who Palmer is may remember him from such press conferences as accusing the Greens of being funded by the CIA.

No result would have made me happy... both were terrible choices, and I can't say one was MUCH worse than the other...
I looked at my ballot and sighed.
I could choose from members from...
The Australian Party
I didn't even bother preference voting, because only 1 of them was not completely right-wing, (even though I do think Labor is slightly more left than LNP... they're still both right-wing IMO).
Newman is a selfish jerk. Bligh is a twit. Qld was going to screwed regardless. I just know that now, we're probably going to be even poorer thanks to Newman selling off electrical, and I do wonder how many more places he wants to ruin (I hate that he destroyed that part outside City Hall... it's just a hot concrete slab now... it's hideous!).

I dont really feel much either way about the results. Qld has decided. It can be taken to be a slap towards the federal ALP. I live in a 'blue ribbon Liberal area" so it comes as no surprise that the LNP has won here. Im a bit surprised that Anna Bligh has now quit,, I thought she should have stayed around, she won her seat, and she could share her expierence with the new people. I bet the by election will not go to labor, and they will have even less members. We have had large majorities before, landslide victories, it is just the swing of politics. Nothing to be disstressed about. Marie.

I voted ALP simply because I didn't want to see LNP win it by a landslide....
guess no one else did though.
