My name is Rebecca and I work as part of a Diversional Therapy team in an Aged Care Facility in Ferny Grove. I am wanting to implement an 'Intergenerational Project' for the elderly residents in my care.
This would involve recruiting interested parents and children to come into the facility (probably on a fortnightly basis) to interact and spent time with the elderly residents. From the work that I do, I have seen the impact that children have of the elderly and really look forward to getting this program up and running.
I am looking for children who are aged 12 months and younger.. or between 4-5 years of age. I have chosen these age groups initially as children generally between 1-3 are still feeling that great sense of attachment anxiety; and I want both the children and the elderly residents to feel comfortable in the situation.
If you are interested, or would like more information. Please email me at email@example.com
