I too would be phoning the police, it just doesn't sound right to me.

I am going to the police station now.
The card just said DOCS "area" and their names written on the back of the card.

I haven't read all the posts, so please excuse if I am repeating anything.
However, are you absolutely SURE these were DOCS workers? It sounds extremely unprofessional to say the least that upon initial meeting they didn't introuduce themselves and tell you why they were there.
So many alarm bells are ringing for me in what you have written, such as the un professional way in which you say they conducted themselves, yelling and accusing you, and especially in front of a child. It kind of defeats the pupose of 'child safety' if you have so-called department of child safety workers berating someone in front of their small child, intimidating and scary much?
I implore you to ring DOCS at the very least, or the Police as this is an extremely suspicious situation and with an ex with a history of violence against you, nothing to take lightly as I am sure you're well aware.

I'm really worried for you. This is not how any government agency is run. Not even Police are like that. To barge into your house and take photos without a legitamite excuse or your permission. To push past you to inspect upstairs? NO WAY! Not on.
Even if your house was a pig sty DOCS wouldn't be outright rude like that. And they don't even have a file on you!!! Something is totally NOT right.
I would be calling the police and getting their advise on how to best protect yourself and your family.
I wouldn't have your DD there tomorrow. It would scare her. I would be ringing your brother's school and letting the principal know what is going on and make them aware.
If they turn up tomorrow lock the screen door/door and refuse to let them in. Talk to them through the door. Tell them your calling the police and you'll wait for them to arrive before you'll speak to them.
If your Ex is behind this I'd be very surprised if they turn up tomorrow.

Yes, please call the police and make sure you mention that they interviewed your brother at school and give them the card you were given. Impersonating DOCS officers should be taken seriously. It sounds like your ex could be paying people to stalk/harrass you.
In fact, I'd actually go in person to your nearest police station right away.

I had something similar happen to me n my son 2 years ago.
Just after Christmas 2010 i had a very strange call from someone stating that they were from my local FAMILIES SA office saying that I had to go into their office on Friday and hand over my son as I had not responded to any of there letters regarding my son. The caller even had to call me back with the office number because it was like he couldn't remember the number of the office he claimed he worked for.
Now this seamed very suss as Families SA NEVER send out letters to clients telling them to just hand over their children as it all has to be done properly through the courts and there have to be sufficient reports etc before a child can be removed. I called my local Families SA and they confirmed that the person who contacted me did not work for Families SA and that there were no investigations against me as my file had been closed with them a year ago.
It turned out that it was an ex of mine who decided to play this sick revenge on me because I threw him out on new years eve because he had decided that we weren't in a relationship despite telling me we were and the fact he expected me to spend over $200 on a Christmas present for him, as well as dictating to me that I should spend my Xmas money my sister gave me on bills instead of myself.
This does not sound like usual DOCS behaviour to me as in all the encounters I have had with them have been pleasant except for one and they actually listened when I made a complaint about a worker.

It should have government logos and contact names and numbers printed on the front of it. Not written on the back.
I would also imagine it would have the whole meaning of DOCS not just the abreviation?
Are their names hand written on the back?
