Just a bit of a brag because I am proud of myself
So at around 5 months, Mikayla went through a complete breast refusal and would not breastfeed AT ALL. Sometimes I could sneak in a dream feed if she was tired enough and hungry enough, but whilst awake, she would NOT feed, but she would take a bottle. I should have pumped to keep up my supply, but I didn't. I was lazy, and my supply dropped back to basically nothing. I barely had a drop to give. After a good 6 - 8 weeks of her continuing to refuse, I had basically given up. Then all of a sudden, she seemed to want to feed again, but I had no milk to give her.
I decided to give it one last shot, and went to the doctor to get some Motilium. I started feeding her as often as I could, and I'm also back at work 3 days a week, so pumping throughout the day at work. I ended up bruised and bleeding from overpumping, scratched, bitten, kicked and pulled at by her as she was frustrated that there wasn't enough milk...
2 weeks later, and our breastfeeding relationship is back on track! I can hardly believe it, we had basically quit for 2 months, and now at almost 8 months old, I can now fair and squarely say she is still breastfed She feeds about 6 - 8 times a day/night, and is having a maximum of 2 bottles of formula a day - one as a top up before bed if she needs it, and one formula bottle on her daycare days as I can only express enough for one bottle and she needs 2 while she's there.
Happy days! Super proud
