Hi
Ive just become pregnant for the first time after TTC for quite a while. I am trying to choose between NWP and Mater. Ive gotten a lot of feedback from friends but am starting to get a little confused.
Has anyone used Dr Melissa Luckensmeyer at Mater or Dr Eva Kretowicz at NWP?

I am not familiar with either of those obs, but can highly recommend north west private. You need to book most obs straight away though, so if you cant decide I would get a referral to both and make both appointments and in the meantime do the hospital tours etc. You can then cancel the one you dont want.

I haven't heard of either, sorry!
I highly reccomend mater. I had my first bub 7 weeks ago and it was great. Hubby could stay 24/7, large range of menu choices etc.
Glenda McLaren was my obstetrician and she was amazing!!!!

Fiona dazell is at the mater and books out very quickly. Sile Debhal is there too and great as well. Low intervention rates for both.
Honestly haven't heard much good about NWP. The people I know in real life that have gone there have had loads of interventions. One Gf was induced and given only 6 hrs to get ready to push. Of course she wasn't ready and off she went to a csection.
The mater middies are fabulous if that's a consideration for you.

I have just had my third bub at NWP two weeks ago. I love it!! The midwifes I have found to be fantastic! It's a really lovely smaller hospital which I find great, easy to get to free parking etc. the rooms are lovely also. I saw Dr John Howland may not be everyone's cup of tea but really knows his stuff and think he's great at C- sections. I was really happy with everything. May also depend for you where you live to both hospitals too.

That is a good point, if you are in the NWPH catchment, you will not be in the Mater catchment area.

Decision made
Thanks for all the helpful replies. We went with Dr Melissa Luckensmeyer and she was amazing. I definitely recommend her if you are looking for an obstetrician at the Mater.
