I have a Visa card with a $300 limit that I use for online purchases. I got a call today from NAB fraud section to say they had noticed some "out of character" transaction and it turns out over $200 had been taken out in payments $8 to $90 fraudulently . Lucky the bank found it, because I may have missed it, which is embarrassing as a qualified accountant. The card has to be cancelled and I have to fill in forms to get the money back. I'm so glad I have this limited card for online use, but it's still a bit upsetting. The NAB lady said they most probably generate random numbers

Thats no good, there are some real low lifes out there Its nice to know you are getting your money back but what a stressful situation to be in!

The same happened with my sister and it took about 6 weeks to get the money back. It's still a pain having to do the paperwork though. Good luck and sorry to hear about the leeches who rorted your hard earned $$$

This happened to me just 2 weeks ago, though thankfully the people got declined but the bank still called me and still froze my account until I got a new card. I'm still waiting for the PIN for the new card though. I got the new card on monday and still waiting for the PIN. I can use the credit feature in the meantime (it's a debit card) but I'd still like to know my new PIN!!
It sucks but thankfully the banks know what to look for and are onto it if need be.

We had it happen first to DH card then to mine a few days later and have since discovered a friend had been hacked twice after we all went to the same shopping centre (westfield chermside)
