I'm from nz but when I'm in Brisbane me and DP go to Hamilton hotel. They have delicious meals and it's nice!!! Can't remember the name of the suburb but it's not far from the airport

Ah yes, Aria. I've heard of it of course - is it really that good?? It's just sooo expensive!! Just had a peek at the menu - how can they charge $72 for one steak?!

Snap ^ Biscotti! Aria is awesome!

I don't even know if it's still there, but I used to like Russel Armstrong's 'Two Small Rooms' in Toowong, quaint and romantic.

Bretts Wharf, Baguette and Jade Buddha are all favs.

Yes Jade Buddha is rather nice. I love the Sofitel, that's prob my fav!!

Both u must book cause its likely you may not get in.

Bulimba is also rather nice. I really like La Quinta there. Lots of fun and great drinks.

I have heard stoke house at southbank is awesome. It's new.

Also Ahmets at southbank. Sit input outside. Belly dancers etc good food and really authentic looking.

I also like continental in New Farm.

Actually New Farm has a few good ones.

The city has some lovely ones aswell but generally have to book at most places.

Oh and Siromet Winery is just divine. A fair way out but simply beautiful. Love it.

    On Milton Rd

Oh yes!! I had quite forgotten Two Small Rooms.
I used to love it there, haven't been for years.

EmyB - Aria is just wonderful, it's the full dining "experience" iykwim....not somewhere that we could go everyday or week without selling one of the children but as a sometimes treat, well it's wonderful

When DH and I finally get a chance to go out for dinner, I want to go to Stokehouse at Southbank. I haven't been, but it sounds awesome, and the one in Melbourne is awesome. But have to book ahead of time I think.

    Thanks for the ideas gals!

I've been to a few listed (Two Small Rooms, Baguette, Bretts Wharf, Ahmets, Jade Buddha) but hadn't heard of the others!

I'm very interested in Stokehouse - especially since I've been mourning the loss of River Canteen at South Bank which was awesome!

    Cheers
