April, I am SO, SO, sorry. I really, truly thought it was promising. Those sticks are really deceiving then
Will you cycle next month? With your second embie?
What the heck is going on with this cgh testing? Is it all immune stuff going on? Lining issues? Do the RE's have any answers as why these perfect embies aren't sticking. Getting really nervous for my FET now

That sucks April. I was so hoping you would get a pleasant surprise today. This thread isn't going so well for BFPs.

April I am so sorry to read about your BFN. It's just not fair not one little bit!
Can I please join this thread? I am waiting for my AF in order to commence my next stim cycle. I was all set to have my first aCGH cycle in May at MIVF but because I only ended up with 2 embies to test, we have frozen these two little ones and going straight into another stim cycle. I will find out on Wednesday when I see my FS if we are going to do another stim and bank more embies or turn up the meds to do a aCGH cycle. This last cycle where I only had 2 to test I was on a low dose protocol of 175iu puregon due to having a twisted torsion last year when I received my first BFP. I was so close to loosing my ovary and fallopian tube so my FS is reluctant to up my meds while my ovary is still recovering - hmmmm, it's never straight forward is it!
Wishing all you great mumma-to-be's your long awaited BFPs very very soon

April that's a bummer. I kind of love/hate pee sticks, they can be awful for false hope. Grrr.
We will be doing our first stim cycle in July now. June is out as I have paid for a ski trip with DS that is right when I'd be needing to do blood tests. So mid July we will start. Am going to be on 200mcg Puregon with Ovidrel trigger.
8 weeks to wait...

Thank you for the warm welcome ladies. I am so grateful to have found you. Yes April, after my 8th unsuccessful blast transfer, I was at the end of my rope and my FS was completely baffled as to why I wasn't preggo by now so I had a lap and hysteroscopy and while I was under, my FS took an NK biospy. I also went to Sydney to meet Dr Gavin Sacks and do the NK cells blood test. I am almost certain that you don't need to travel to Sydney anymore for this blood test, but it is a specialised blood test because my FS did test me for NK cells via our standard MIVF blood test and that came back NEGATIVE (!!!) ... thank goodness she wasn't convinced (8 transfers and no explanation as to why they haven't implanted) so I did the blood test with Gavin Sacks and both that and the biopsy showed that I did in fact have high NK cells and that a simple add of prednisilone to my cycle (I was already on Clexane) would make all the difference. Although it is not necessary now to travel to Sydney to test for NK cells, it can be done in any state, I was grateful for the opportunity to meet with Dr Sacks. It was so interesting ... the information he gave us on how so many women, once treated for NK cells, finally got their well earned BFP. We weighed up the slight risks of prednisiolone with the chance of having a baby - it was an easy choice! He says on average it takes 1-3 cycles for the prednsilone to surpress your immune system enough for it to work. He was sure right! Our second cycle - presto, it worked but many ladies I know personally through various support groups did get pregnant on their first cycle. Dr Sacks was picking up the phone and calling women that he had treated years ago with no success to come back and see him and most of them he was able to get pregnant after all those years, simply by treating them for NK cells . I am not sure is if this is the magic bullet for you, but it just may be and so worth getting tested for. My hubby and I swear it is because of this treatment that we got our beautiful angel. Sadly he isn't with us anymore, but we thank Prednisilone and Clexane every single day for the opportunity to have had him xxx

Bubs, welcome, so good to have you here. Is there a particular reason to have the cgh testing, or you just want to make sure everything is chromosomally normal before transfer (this is why I am doing it). You don't have to answer if you don't want. Do you know what stage your embies have to be for testing? Day 3 or 5?
I am so sorry to hear about your precious angel. I am glad that you have found something that finally worked for you. I know of another girl that did cgh testing and did transfer with a BFN, she then consulted with your Dr Sacks and is now PUPO, she had the NK cells as well.

I so have everything crossed for you during your June transfer. Having 4 frozen tested embies is magnificent and for all we know and very possibly, you have your entire SUV family right there in this batch - so exciting!!!
At MIVF we test on day 3 then grow them for a fresh blast transfer.
Loosing our beautiful son was the hardest thing ... Is the hardest thing any parent has to go through. I just don't know how we even manage to get out of bed in the morning. If we lost another baby, we are certain it would kill us. I know CGH isn't 100% accurate and cannot sadly 100% promise you that you won't miscarry ... But the odds are so much better than without CGH testing. We could absolutely welcome, love and cherish a disabled or sick child but to loose another child, we just can't face it. It sounds so selfish I know. We didn't loose our son through anything chromosonally, it's just the thought of miscarraying ... Well, I can't even go there and although CHG can't guarantee that, it's our best chance.

Bubs, I am so sorry for everything you have been through. I can not even imagine it. A freind of mine had a baby last week and he is very, very sick and I am so sad for her and her precious baby. I totally understand why you would do the testing, it is similar to me. Last year I did 3 cycles and of them only had one normal to transfer, which was a chemical. I wanted full knowledge of what was transferred was normal and if anything went wrong, then maybe it was just me and I had to accept that.
I feel very guilty that I have three amazing children, but still want one more, yes 2 have serious health issues that we are stll trying to get to the bottom of but at the same time a part of me still longs for one more and I know how selfish that is too to have that want when so many just want one.
This is to answer April, when we started this journey, we were told to accept 3 cycles minimum, we have now done 5, I think if nothing comes of our frozen embies, then this would be it for us. It is starting to become an obsession and the waiting and dissappointment with each cycle is becoming too much to bear. It is taking me longer and longer to get back on track after each dissappointment. Last weeks cancelled cycle for instance, I know it was the best choice but it really kicked me. I thought ovulation was the one thing I could rely on in this whole wacky thing so basically I think that if we transfer these embies and it is BFN, we are giving up

Hi lovely ladies!
So sorry for my long absence.
April- I cannot believe your perfect CGH embie gave you a BFN too. Its not like a normal BFN is it? Hits so much harder because you KNOW the embie was good, and therefore our body somehow failed it. We are not having any luck in this thread, 0 from 3 so far . So much for the >80% success rate. We had decided at the beginning of IVF that we'd stop at 4 fresh stims, plus whatever frosties we were lucky enough to get. Haven't even got to the 4th stim and already feel burnt out...
Scarlet- I hope the medicated cycle does the trick next time. Surely you have to break the bad luck streak in here
Scruffy- hope your jabbing is going well & you've got lots of eggs getting ready for collection!
Wishmeluck- where are you up to with your cycle?
BubsMcG- Hi & welcome! You sure have endured a lot of cycles and I'm so sorry you find yourself here after losing your little boy . I hope your happy ending is very close by.
Tiggerfields- Nice to see you back. The time from now til July will pass very quickly, especially with a holiday in June.
AFM- DH & I have decided not to cycle in June anymore. No plans on when we will, but definitely not before Oct. Quite strangely, I've swung from being desperate for a child to now having second thoughts about the whole parenting thing... my cluckiness has totally died. I'm not at all sad about it, quite the opposite in fact . We have loads of plans over the coming months to enjoy our DINK lifestyle and child-freedom. Maybe the cluckiness will be back with a vengeance later on, who knows! For now I am OFF the IVF rollercoaster and loving it. I'll still be following along as I want to see each of you get your heart's desire, but I won't be actively posting for a while. Good luck and babydust to you all
