hi i have a 4 week old son , in the last 2 days he has become quite unsettled and only sleeping for about 20mins before waking up and screaming uncontrollably until i give him a feed to settle him down. Thought it was wind at first so have been giving him marina infant drops to try and help out but he is still quite unsettled . Does anyone have any tips to help get him settled . after a long day being unsettled yesterday he slept okay last night but today has started similar .
Thanks

When you say you gave him a feed, is that breast feeding? Have you eaten/taken envy thing recently that might be coming out through your milk and upsetting his tummy?
I haven't tried those drops, but when it came to colic/wind, I found infacol worked the best for DS. However, I THINK that might be for 6 weeks +.
Hope you find something to settle him xx

When my DD was very young and unsettled my mum kept telling me to burp her. It can take ages when they're little, like, 30 mins of holding them up against your chest/shoulder.
Also what helped us was Harvey Karp's Happiest Baby on the Block settling tips, particularly the shooshing. YouTube it.
Good luck, I hope bubba settles better soon xo

I have had the same problem DS number 2 is 4 weeks old and was very hard to settle mostly at night, after talks with my mum and MHN we worked out that he was to tired of a night to suck ( my milk was to thick) and he was not getting enough, we put him on formula and he has been better for it.
Having said that putting him on formula was really hard for me, DS 1 BF for 6 months, I still miss it alot I still have milk do we BF once a day
Hope this helps

The same thing happened to my DS at 4 weeks. He was screaming out in pain and nothing DH or I did settled him. I started giving him Infacol drops before every feed and it has worked wonders. It has taken up to now so almost 2 weeks but he is much happier and I am a lot less stressed. I also cut dairy out of my diet a bit over a week ago and he has been able to settle without me walking laps of the house, so thats a bonus.
Keep up the BF while you can, it was super hard but everyone keeps promising me it will get easier when his little tummy matures a bit more. Good luck

My DS at 4 weeks would wake at night say around 10ish and scream . I didn't know what was up, he is solely breasted and this screaming stopped after a week.
Good luck hon, these tough times don't last for ever. Xxx
