Tropical Bub: your numbers rise. I'm thinking of you both
Bellavista: Yah for af. I can just feel how nervous you must be. all goes well.
afm: I had a crappy time at our review yesterday. Not happy at all. After calming down and talking things over, we've decided to accept being handed over to someone else and now we have to wait. We will be having a tele-conference first, then cycling sometime in september. I won't go into details because i'm still really ****ed. One of them started to take offense to my displeasure at having to wait again, so i calmly told here just how angry I was. Jeez, what a circus.
Dh decided I needed a distraction afterwards, so we went and ordered a new bedroom suite, then had a lovely meal at Smithfield Tavern. Will definitely have to go there again.
Hope everyone is doing well

Amps I am so sorry to hear the your review wasn't as you had hoped. I think they forgot what type of service we are there for sometimes and how emotional it is for us. They are carrying all the cards and deciding when we can make our next attempt at for filling future dreams. TBH that is one reason why after CFC cancelled my 3rd rescheduled appointment I did not make a 4th with them.
Nothing like some retail therapy to take the sting out of a crap appointment we ended up with an iMac and a new lounge after my miscarriage... It was my DH way of filling a void i am sure.
We often go to the balaclava tavern it is the same grazier steakhouse same menu etc. The Fillet Mignon are lovely there.

Hey everyone - hope you are all keeping well.
Tropical Bub - I Hope your numbers are up and away!
Bellavista - for a super, spongy, emby welcoming lining and for 2 happy, ready to go defrosted frosties. I know what you mean about trying to be positive. I am about to take over from someone about to go on maternity leave and I have to stop myself from thinking that it won't ever happen for me. I even go to the extent that I reframe what I am thinking to try and be more positive - though sometimes it's hard to catch those fleeting thoughts. Just think ... if they can I can too!
Amps - I'm sorry you had a s@it time at your review. How is it that you've come to be handed over to someone else? I take it you'll be under Dr Yovich now? I've had a few hiccups in my dealings with them over the last 2 weeks... so I wonder if there isn't more going on? PM me if you want to offload! If you are doing a cycle in September - we just may get to be cycle buddies!
AFM - I've been to Cairns and back 2x in the last week. I had my antral follicle and pelvic scan last Tuesday and my HyCoSy last Friday. As yet scan has not been discussed but after HyCoSy - told everything in there seems fine and clear. I had to repeat my CA 125 bloods because I had an abnormally high reading - Dr said most likely because I had AF at time of test... still not sure how that one went... nothing mentioned in my emailed results... So I'll sit and wait and do my blood test on day 21 and wait for my review appointment

Although blood test is being done this arvo .... I'm out ... bleeding began last night
I'm thoroughly disappointed but not surprised (was just hoping for first ovulation it has worked for us)
We've decided to give the other FS in town a trial, CFC OI costs are just too high. So we'll see what they both have to say at review appts and go forth from there.
Good luck everyone ... I'll be watching from afar.

Thanks for sharing all your news. this IVF business means long waits between treatments and tests. It's one of the things I hate most about this whole thing...the waiting! I was a reading a thread entitled 'things I hate most about IVF'. There were some good ones, also another thread 'things people say when they find out you're doing IVF'. Too true!
Anyway- I'm getting ready to cycle on Tues. Waiting for AF, unless by some miracle we get a natural due to the month of DHEA!! Highly unlikely, but we can always hope I had my D21 scan last week, and all seemed good to go. Hope I can start Gonal in a few days. I'm not looking fwd to teh pessaries, it's been a lovely 2 mnths off feeling slimey and bloated!
When is the best time to start acupuncture in the stim cycle? FS says it's most important on transfer day, but do I start during the stim?
AMPS- Can't believe how CFC have given you the run around. I tend to agree with ShazzyMoo that there may be more to it. They just don't seem as attentive or forthcoming with info lately. I end up asking all the questions and pre-empting 'what's next'? They are down to one nurse now and seem to maybe be a bit overloaded? Lingham is maybe also tired because he has a new baby in his life now. He is never usually jumping out of his skin, but he seems extra quiet at the moment. Maybe it's all adding up in there? Regardless, it's inexcusable when we are paying so much for the service and going through what is already a hellish ride. If you do transfer to QFG it will be interesting to hear your comparisons.
SUNNY- Omg welcome back!! We all missed you. I am glad to hear things are sorting themselves out. Sending you BIG hugs! XXX Can't wait to hear what you decide to do for your next embie.
I am on a day off today. I have recently moved offices (a calculated decision in an effort to eradicate stress from my life) and it has been great! Best thing I ever did and all that I hoped.
Catch you all soon XXX

Musicalgal good luck with your cycle like you I hate the pessaries they are terrible. I often think a change of jobs would help my chances but just aren't feeling brave enough to make that change.
I had my scan today my lining is around 8-8.5mm with good layering and lines and "body" going to thaw mid week growth 3 x 8 cell embies put to blastocysts and transfer 2 if possible or 1 if that's all that is left on Friday 3rd August. Start crinone and probers this Sunday. Test day will be the 14th August!! I will take Friday off and relax let my blast implant peacefully. They mentioned that implantation for acupuncture will be Friday or Saturday to schedule appointments.
I feel good just have to have the thaw go well. Good luck lovely ladies x

MusicalGal –Glad to see you on the forum. We havent caught up for coffee for a while….actually I think last time we spoke, we were going to have a girlie IVF free chat over a couple of wines at Salt House!!! DHEA – I have been on it and I had some side effects, but I think it depends on the dosage….I got one or two chin hairs, my hair started to fall out, not rapidly, but more at the rate that I had to clean out my brush a little more often than usual…I also had a bit of acne, but everything stops when you stop taking DHEA. Im interested to know why you are only on it for a month, because everything that I have heard or read says that it takes 3 months to get the maximum effect???
Bellavista –Firstly, sorry to read of your loss. Secondly, your lining after todays scan is travelling along well. I totally understand your fear and nerves of a successful embie thaw….it is one of the most stressful times for me, along with that 24 hour period until the clinic rings with the fertilisation report…those two occasions are just nerve rackingfor me. All that stuff that you are on with Kerri, is the same that I went on a couple of months ago….I found that my cycles were blowing out from 28 days, all that stuff worked and has bought it back to 28…I also have an issue with thin lining and only ever just make it to 8mm at time of transfer….all the herbs, wuji eggs etc seem to help with that also.
Amps –Ok….Im shaking my head at reading your recent events….you will need to explain something to me. If the catheter was notbeing thread through the correct opening into your womb, what was being shown on the ultrasound at ET??? Every time I have been through an ET with Dr Lingam, he uses an ultrasound and you can see the catheter being thread through to the correct area and we have been able to see the “air bubble” containing the embryos being deposited out of the catheter and into the womb. Was an ultrasound used? What was being shown on the screen to ensure the embryos were being deposited in the correct area? Sorry to hear that CFC are being less than helpful at the moment….I honestly believe that they got just too darn busy for one FS and cracks and mistakes began to appear. I was originally an advocate for CFC, been there since they first opened, however, I have been on the end of less than perfect service of recent times. We are all paying a huge amount of money and depend on their expertise and proactive service at that….we are not the experts, they are.
Tropical Bub– sorry to read of your BFN….look after yourself and immerse yourself in lots of decadent treats. Look forward to hearing what both reviews reveal.
Shazzymoo –Glad to hear you are back in the game with a second opinion….I hope CFC are successful for you and you have a positive experience with them. I think they are very good but I find that Dr Lingam is conservative/careful, which has its place, but I need someone aggressive and I need a clinic that is cutting edge and willing to try anything…..what Im reading about overseas clinics, they are much more progressive.
Bluemarlin –So sorry to read that you did not have success. What clinic are you with? Have you thought of trying Brisbane? Dr Warren De Ambrosis of QFG in Brisbane is supposed to be a bit of a guru.
Domiffy –Welcome. It is always a dilemma Day 3v’s Day 5 embies….I would love to have a good number of eggs/embies to risk some by going to blasties, but I have never been that fortunate. The closest that I have come is the fertilisation with donor eggs a couple of months ago. All 4 donor eggs fertilised and developed really well to Day 3: 1 x transferred, 2 x frozen and 1 looked like it would make it to Day 5, but was just lagging slightly at Day 5, so it was decided that it couldn’t be used. If I were you, I would speak in depth with the Embryologist about your embryos quality….at the end of the day, you have 3 embryos and all 3 are precious – can you afford (emotionally and financially) to lose 1 or 2 trying to take them to blastie. Also, I started this IVF journey quite some time ago and I decided to ‘bank’ as many of my own eggs/embryos as I could due to my age, so I went through 3 x stim cycles and then started to use my frozen embryos before going down the donor egg route. I think it is wise to ‘bank’, if finances allow. I think that Dr Lingam does not like transferring any more than 1 embryo at a time that has resulting from under 40year old eggs. When I was cycling with my own eggs, he transferred 2 x embryos on more than a few occasions due to the reduced risk of multiples with over 40 year old eggs…likewise with assisted hatching. Dr Lingam refuses to transfer my 2 x embryos from a 34 year old donor, due to the risk of multiples….he is willing (and it took some talking into by me and DP) to do assisted hatching due to the same risk.
Btmac – howare you going?
DP and I are working at our relationship…we are lucky in the way that love is not the issue, as we love each other very very much. But since childhood he has been left with an unhealthy legacy from a not nice father, which he is trying to work through. We are currently living apart, with a view and commitment to be together better than ever. DP gave me permission to use our embryos and wants to be a part of it.
So, where were we upto prior to all this happening…..well, I had an appointment with a specialist to see if my elevated Anti-Nuclear Antibodies revealed any answers to failed implantation, but it revealed nothing. Dr Lingam then said that he would do the exact same protocol as last time, which he may have forgotten that it was the exact same protocol as the cycle previous. So, we have had the same protocol; 1 with my old eggs and 1 with donor eggs…result was the same, BFN. So why would we want to go with the same protocol …you put the same effort in, the same result comes out. So we have sought a second opinion and we have a videoconference with Dr Yovich in Perth on 15 August….so we will see if my protocol will differ.
