    ALL my three boys get/ have gotten these, I use Schuessler tissue salts "Mag/phos - muscle relaxant" and it works wonders! They just take one pill when they are in pain, works like magic.

    Easily available at most pharmacies.

    Magnesium tissue salts are AMAZING I use them after a workout, give them to the kids for irritability, sleeplessness. They have a blue lid and sell them at healthfood stores and some chemists. You could also try a Epsom salt bath when he is having an attack and rub arnica cream with some lavender drops afterwards, if u feel safe enough I put a lavender oil burner in the girls room for the first hlf hr of sleep while we're awake watching tv.

    Quinine is known muscle relaxant. Many of my older patients (I'm a nurse) used to take quinine tablets every night for night leg cramps and restless legs. Now I think about it, I haven't had anyone taking it for ages..maybe it isn't prescribed anymore..

    My DS is getting them at the momement. Last night he was sobbing in agony at about 11pm.

    I give some nurofen and use voltarin rapid gel on the back of his legs - the gel really works quicker than anything else.

    Im going to try the magnesium tablets as a preventative.

    I bought unsalted cashew nuts after getting a list of foods with high magnesium levels. He loves them. Im not sure how he goes tonight. He's already thrown himself on my bed and is lying completely spread out over 3/4 of the mattress, leaving no room for mummy

    Tonic water. Now why didn't I think of that?! Im supposed to have a degree in biochemistry lol. Will be going to get some tonic water tomorrow.

    The salts sound good, but he's only just 2 years old and wont swallow liquid medicine, let alone tablets

    When I was younger and had 'growing pains' my parents would get me to walk barefoot on cool/cold tiles. I don't know if the cold tiles helped or it was just the fact I was stretching my legs, but it helped me.

    I would say the magnesium tissue salts are small and chewable. They pretty much melt in the mouth. My girls take the calcium tissue salts and they love taking them before bedtime.

    I have also come across small chewable arnica tablets that are meant to be good for growing pains. Haven't tried them out yet though as my dd hasn't had growing pains for some time now

    The tissue salts are small chewable and sweet tasting. They have kid flavors. Raw cacao is higher in magnesium than cashews.
