    Default Empty Breasts

    Hi Ladies,

I am breastfeeding an 11 month old. I feed 3 times per day. My breasts feel very empty all the time and I am worried that my supply is going to stop. Do your breasts get emptier as you reduce your number of feeds? I do still get the let down feeling. I have not gotten my period back. I am not on the pill. What are your experiences with breastfeeding at this stage? TIA

Hi there, DS is 11 months too and I was just wondering the same thing myself. I feed him 4 times a day, but the 2 in the middle are usually a 5 minute comfort suck before his naps.

ETA: I only really get full breasts when I'm at work all day and need to express.

Same for me too! Dd is 16 months and mine only feel 'full' if I've been at work. When I'm home with her she feeds on demand so they hardly get a chance to fill up. I also haven't gotten my period back and am not on the pill!

DS is 14 months and fed 3 - 4 times a day (plus 1 or 2 overnight atm) and my breasts pretty much feel empty all the time. Your body is very good at adjusting to what your bub needs, so you won't feel 'full' but that doesn't mean there is an issue with your supply.
