Im keen to find out what people think aswell!
Heard of the thermochef the other day (and was thinking about buying my mum one for her birthday, she uses my grandparents thermomix and loves it!)

Not too sure (if used everyday) that they would outlast 10 years?
Dunno!! Each to their own I suppose!
I have an EXTREMELY lazy DH... (not sure if I said this before?) he is now COOKING in the TM!! All the time
He and the TM make a mean cappachino!!

Another vote for the thermomix. I use mine 3 times a day on average. I think what $ I have saved in bread and yoghurt alone since I got it justifies the price tag. For something that I use all the time I think it makes sense to pay extra for the better product - which the thermy clearly is.
