    Unfortunately you will find hundreds of conflicting articles/studies on canola but in my opinion, there has been no long term studies done ( because it hadn't been around that long!) so for my family I stay away from it as much as possible ( very hard as it is in everything!) not sure about lotions etc but I would never cook with it ( it's highly refined, and being polyunsaturated oil should really not be heated ) much better ( natural oils out there!) plus as pp said 80% are GMO
