    DS's 10th birthday cake. It's very simple but this is exactly how he wanted it. He's a minimalist at heart I think! I'm pretty happy with it, considering it took just 20-30 minutes to do (not including time to bake the cake of course).

    Gorgeous! I'm thinking of doing something like this, for dd, can I ask what cake is inside, it needs to be quite high doesn't it?
    I've been thinking it could be an extra creamy layer cake.

    I think it was 4 or 5 layers of chocolate mud cake, you use straws (from cake decorating shop) to secure it together... it had strawberry jam (to keep Cake moist) and chocolate buttercream between layers
