    Default Luteal Phase Length

Hi everyone I was wondering what is classed as an average Luteal Phase.

My last two have been 10 days long with AF showing up on day 11, is that to short??? It just doesn't seem long enough with people getting BFP on days 13-14.

Is there anything I can do to lengthen that phase? I think someone mentioned B6????

    Thanks in advance

Hi Sashie - I think 10 days would be considered a short luteal phase, and yes, B6 is meant to help lengthen it. I think an 'average' LP is 13-15 days, but I could be wrong!

Hi Sashie, its on the short side but my fertility clinic seems to think it wouldn't cause too many issues. 10 as a minimum though.

That average luteal phase is between 10 and 16 days. Anything under 10 and it would be consider a luteal phase defect which is easy fixed by progesterone tablets. If you are worried about it you can try Vitex. It's purchased in most Heath food stores and helps regulate and support luteal phases. Progesterone is by prescription only and is for more of a serious luteal problem.

I am booking in to see a naturopath who specialises in pre conception/IVF etc etc so she can help sort it out a bit.
