Please tell me I'm not alone!
I ask him to sweep the back patio, he did a p!ss poor job of it and left a pile of dog fur/dusk/ripped up dog blanket on the grass right on the edge of the patio.
This is just one example! He is so messy! He would live in filth!
His side of the bed is empty water bottles, socks and whatever shorts he pulled off from the previous night, mine is spotless.
Is my husband in need of a swift kick up the butt or are they all like this?

My DP sounds about as 'useful' as yours. Pretty sure its just laziness and stubborness ...they're just lucky we love them

Oh that sounds exactly like mine!
He thinks that sitting on the lounge watching tv while DS and DD play in the same room is spending quality time with them. *arghhhhh* it drives me insane his laziness!

Sounds like my hubby. He is very much a lazy bum and needs to be told everything that needs to be done I dont think he will ever change.

I get so sick of nagging, I wrote lists that need to be completed.
He just scrunched my list up and chucked it on his office floor!!
Just as well he will be picking it up as cleaning the office was one of his jobs!

Write "pick me up" on a bunch of small bits of paper, scrunch them up and add them to the office floor
*note: this may resolve in you needing to pick said pieces of paper up yourself*

My DH is pretty good. But sometimes I do little things that 'help' him along.
Like when he throws his clothes on floor or near laundry basket I don't wash them. I just do my own. He soon gets the point when he has no clean clothes.
Same for food. One week when I was annoyed I just made my own food and cleaned up. Lasted about two nights before he realized and became less slobby with food/cleaning up.
Though I must admit he is usually helpful. Does cleaning etc. brings me tea in bed. So I try to take the good with the bad!!!

My DP is like this. It infuriates me because I literally cannot keep the house the way I like it - I'd be cleaning behind him 23 hours a day. He's like a cyclone.
Sometimes he surprises me though and goes & washes the bathroom or something. But then he leaves the tootbrushes & hand soap on top of the toilet. He's got no idea about general tidiness.
I adore him in many ways but this I do not & he knows it.

That is exactly his problem! His mummy isn't here to pick up after him.
I am not his mother & i have two other kids to pick up after (actually, not so much pick up after because I am raising them to be independent & put their own washing in the hamper, folded washing away... Their future wives will thank me)
DH just does not see mess, ever!
I leave his empty water bottles by the bed with his dirty washing. I don't pick up after him, but he doesn't notice.
He doesn't see that the drinks fridge is empty, that his cupboard is empty or that the dishwasher needs to be emptied so the overflowing dirty dishes in the sink can be washed.
