Default New to the world of ivf

    Hi
I'm new to BH & am hoping to meet some lovely ladies on here that can help me through what myself & my Dh are going through right now .

Over the past two months Ive had a whole Bunch of test done & they have come back all Normal however My Dh has been told he is missing his vas defrens so last week he had hormone tests done and I had all the pre ivf tests done & We get results next week & I'm super nervous but I am trying to stay positive .

We are going through the cfc at sunnybank, Brisbane & seeing a fs by the name of dr peng ng . Is there anyone here that is in a similar situation & also has anyone been treated by this Fs.

    BTW

    Me - 28
    Dh - 29

The fs seems quite confident that he can help us & I'm certainly keeping my fingers & toes crossed

If anyone can give me advice & info that would be appreciated

    Hi Bubbadreams,

I'm sorry to hear you're in this situation, and hope you're coping OK with the blow you've been dealt . Not sure if you've navigated your way around the forum yet, but there is a dedicated IVF section here:
    http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/f...lay.php?64-IVF

And a great thread on male infertility here:
    http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/f...fertility-Chat

You will definitely find supportive ladies who know exactly what you're going though

Hi Bubbadreams, sorry to hear you're having difficulty. I'm notsure what your DH's condition is but I would highly recommend asking about HA-ICSI from the outset, if DH's sperm are usuable but limited then that's your highest chance of success and it worked for us. We were with Prof Bruce Dunphy at Bubtree, also in Sunnybank.
All the best of luck to you both, it's a hard journey so try and stay sane!

    Hi Lizzieg

Thanks heaps . As far as we know the only thing is that my dh is missing his vas & we find out this Friday 2nd march If his hormones are all ok & if so then there is still hope .

We just decided last night that if it is all good we are going to wait about 6 months before staring treatment as that way we can save some money as the more we save the less we Have to borrow and we can also use that 6 months to get healthier aswell which will hopefully strengthen our
    Chances

It's going to be a roller coaster year but I just keep focusing on the end result :-)

    Thanks again

Good news today . Dh test results came back all ok so we can now start ivf . Next stop urologist and app with the ivf clinic to get the ball rolling . Fs said we have a very good chance so now the question is how on earth are we going to pay for all this .. Fingers crossed we can get the money from somewhere or someone

Wonderful news that the bloods came back OK and you can get started! I hope they find lots of great swimmers when the time comes to do the aspiration.

    Thanks lindylou

We are so relieved hey and yes fingers crossed they find swimmers . Am going to call up & make appointments tomorrow , hopefully the wait isn't to long for our next app. The fs said is a good idea we start as quickly as possible and not wait till august like we were originally going to

    :-)
