I used to paint DS's - he would ask me to paint his when I was doing mine. No problem.
Now he's at school I would remove it before he went as no kids are allowed it there, boys or girls. I would still let him have clear polish though if he wanted it.
Now he comes to the salon with me when I get my shellac mani pedis and he is allowed to pick the colour. He doesn't want his done any more though. I have had some very out-there fortnights of colour in the past year or so!

I happily paint nails for DS and DD if they ask. DS tends to favour alternating green and red nails with glitter.
My BIL recently saw it and went bananas about it - saying I would "turn" DS gay.I thanked him for his opinion and reminded him that I was DS mother and would decide what was appropriate and when he had children of his own he could do the same!

If I did it to my girl, I'd do it to my boy. I don't really care tbh.
DP, however, WOULD care...

no kids here but no objections either. although i'd be questioning where the nail polish came from- i don't have any!
i think people with objections need to consider that male actors and dancers wear makeup, and priests and bishops wear robes that look like dresses. interestingly, especially in the branches of the church that are traditionally the most anti-gay. so a bit of paint on your nails, which is easily removable either with nail polish remover or by waiting for the nail to grow out, is seriously a non-issue.

I told mum/DP once that I'd paint DS's toenails if he asked me to (mine are always painted so he sees me doing it every few days).
You should have seen the look on their faces! Then and there they probably wanted to have him shipped off to one of those camps in America where they "de-gay" people...
