A good friend of mine has her daughter in family day care. She has been going since she was a baby, and is now 3. Lately there has been a pattern of the day care lady taking her to McDonalds atleased 3 times a week. Mostly to play, but she also feeds her a cheeseburger most times too. Which results in her not eating the lunch that she packed.
She is getting very annoyed, and is going to have a word with the lady about this.
Just wondering if this would bother anyone else?

Yes. That would greatly upset me. I will do cc from home next term, and will probably go to a playcentre twice each term, then once in school holidays but only for a morning then be home by lunch. I thought they weren't meant to be out of the house that often.

Whoa yeah it would.

Yeah it would. I could deal with once a week or fortnight but not that often. There are loads of parks out there to take kids too instead.

FDC has standards about nutrition if food is supplied by the carer. I know because my carer supplies food for my children. Once she took my kids to the movies and asked if it was ok to get happy meals. She told me that she could get in trouble for feeding them that, but was willing to take the risk if it was ok with me.
I would be concerned that my kid was sitting in maccas 3 times a week as well as eating it. Surely she should be doing some sort of activity at that time. FDC is pretty structured and must provide a learning environment. What is she learning at maccas? Maybe if she was eating a horse carrot........
