Default How many school uniforms per child?

I just got the boys another uniform each on Friday so now they have 5 each and I now only have to wash their uniforms on the weekend!!!

    Anyone else do this?

I have 3 sets for DS. I just wash Wednesday night. Not worth having more as he grows so quickly!

Up until this year I had

3 formal and 2 sports/house per child (4 kids) it was bliss.

This year was change over year at our school. They changed the school name and logo name.
At the start of the year each kid had a uniform. The school blessed me with the another uniform per child. So now they have 1 sports and one formal each. I wash everyday now.

I have 2 per child and wash every day.

We are only here for a year at the most, so I got the bare minimum. They have black shorts/skorts from their last school, so all I had to buy for the year was 4 polo shirts and 2 hats at a cost of $70.

When we move and settle, I would probably be happy with 3 per child. I wash everyday anyway, so I don't really need any more then that.

I bought DS 3 polo tops, 4 shorts & 1 jacket in December last year (started prep last week) That cost me almost $200

Yesterday I went to the uniform shop to have a look, I couldn't believe my eyes! A massive cupboard full of second hand uniforms only $2 per item
I got 4 long sleeved polo tops & a jumper for winter! All for the bargain price of $10 woo hoo

We have 3 kids at school here and have...

    In their rooms they have
4x polo's shirts each (some proper school ones with the logo and some plain ones from big W)
    3x shorts each
    2x pairs of pants
    2x jumpers each
    1x raincoat each
2x long sleeve tops/skivvys for winter
    1x school hat

I also have a huge bag of spare stuff in the wardrobe, my step-sons are close in age so the younger ones get the hand-me-downs from the elder one so the spares bag has got 'inbetween' sizes in there.
I also have spare school hats and extra jumpers sitting there in case they lose theirs and spare shorts just because i seem to have brought too many pairs over the years.

I do 1-2 loads of washing everyday though so we don't really need 5 sets each per kid, it would cost us too much as they grow out of them so quickly.

DD has 2 shirts, although one is getting a bit small, 2 skirts, 1 jacket and a few pairs of pants.

If she gets her top messy I wash it as soon as we get home and it's fine by morning but generally DD is clean and always changes as soon as she gets home so she's only in it while at school.

Our uniform shop is expensive and as they just changed the logo they have stopped doing second hand not great when your a single mum on a budget and tops along cost $30 each!
